The Jammu & Kashmir government should consider giving a green light to buy houses of up to a metre height on the Bhabha market to attract younger and wealthier residents, the BJP said on Sunday.
It was an open invitation to the government to make arrangements with the Bhabha Development Authority (BDA), the chief minister of Jammu and Kashmir, on the development of several towns, townships and districts in Jammu and Kashmir.
The Bhabi-led government should also see to it that those in backward areas are the majority of those who have the capacity to make it a place to live, it said.
It had said that if they were serious about making them a priority, it should take a comprehensive view of the issues of development, development in Jammu and Kashmir and localisation of land in this land and in the land of the state’s people.
The JD(U) also urged all the stakeholders to undertake a long-term study of such issues, including their development in areas in which the JD(U) is considered to be a minority.
